Starting on July 1, there will be new Field Research tasks that focus and reward Pokemon from the first generation. The Research Breakthrough, earned after collecting seven stamps, will reward players with a Snorlax that has the legacy move Body Slam. A legacy move is a move that a Pokemon could learn in the past but has been removed and can no longer learn it. Body Slam is one of Snorlax’ best moves, both offensively and defensively.

“Are you ready for more Field Research tasks and helpful rewards for the month of July? On July 1 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, Prepare for a brand-new set of Field Research tasks focusing on Pokemon originally discovered in the Kanto region. Complete these tasks, and you may be able to encounter Pokemon such as Pikachu, Ditto, and Eevee! If you collect enough stamps to earn a Research Breakthrough, you’ll have an opportunity to catch a Snorlax that knows Body Slam. Don’t forget: If you haven’t caught the Legendary Ice- and Flying-type Pokemon Articuno, work toward a Research Breakthrough this week before it goes away. So get ready for a fun mix of tasks next month, and GO!”
Asides from trading, this is the only way to get a Snorlax with Body Slam so don’t miss this opportunity!
