Do I need anything to travel around Sydney on public transport?
In Sydney, to travel on the public transport system, individuals MUST pay for and travel with a “Opal Card”. You can purchase a Opal card from a large range of retailers and locations including any 7-Eleven stores and the Sydney Airport when you land. It is important to note that the card requires you to have “Opal money” on it to be able to travel. The locations to place money on the card are the same as where you buy from. To use the card, it’s as simple as “touch on” and “touch off”. Touch on using the Opal card readers before you board the transportation and touch off after you have finished your journey.

Just near the venue, there are 3 Fast Food outlets: Subway, McDonalds and Oportos. They are located under the Novotel Sydney Hotel, all along the Olympic Boulevard side of the building. There is a Convenience store near the venue, located on the other side of the Train Station where the Event Venue is. Make sure you stock up on water!
Australian Summer is very unforgiving to those who are not used to it. Sydney can get very humid during the summer and can make 30C/86F days feel like 40C/104F and above.
