The newest Pokémon GO event is a blast from the past! According to developer Niantic, the recent appearance of the Mythical Pokémon Mew has attracted hordes of wild Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region, so you’ll see far more of them from today, April 10, until April 17. Pokémon roaming around aren’t the only ones affected by this event—Raid Battles are now featuring Aerodactyl, Snorlax and other rare Pokémon from Kanto. You’ll receive double the amount of Candy you normally would from all actions, too.
This event is a great opportunity to work toward catching the 100 species of Pokémon required to earn the gold Kanto medal, or even to complete your Kanto Pokédex. Earning this gold medal is crucial if you want to complete your first Special Research request and encounter Mew, so don’t delay! Special boxes are also now available until April 17 for purchase in the in-game shop to help you stock up:
- Special Box (480 PokéCoins): Six Premium Raid Passes, 10 Pinap Berries and four Lure Modules
- Great Box (780 PokéCoins): Six Incense, six Lucky Eggs, 12 Premium Raid Passes and 16 Pinap Berries
- Ultra Box (1480 PokéCoins): 12 Lucky Eggs, 24 Premium Raid Passes, 14 Star Pieces and 10 Lure Modules
Special boxes containing Raid Passes are now available in the shop until 4/17! Check them out!
