“A Year And A Half Later, ‘Pokémon GO’ Remains A Force To Be Reckoned With”
In the summer of 2016 the whole world picked up their phones to play Pokémon GO. But a year later it felt like the game had died away completely, even though millions of fans still played every day.
We wanted to show the world that Pokémon GO is alive and well.
There was an opportunity to mobilise the community in a way that nobody could ignore.
THE CREATIVE IDEA
POKÉMON GO TRAVEL LAUNCHED THE GLOBAL CATCH CHALLENGE, THE LIVE EVENT THAT UNITED PLAYERS AROUND THE WORLD.
In 2017, we created Pokémon GO Travel, a platform inspired by tales of Pokémon Trainers venturing abroad to find rare Pokémon and play with new friends.
For our first adventure, we took some of the most influential names in gaming on a road trip to Japan. They played their way across the country, documenting it all for millions of fans around the world.
We also orchestrated a live event to inspire everyday players to come together for the first time behind a unique challenge – The Global Catch Challenge.
CATCH 3 BILLION POKÉMON…
IN 7 DAYS
Throughout the course of the challenge players could unlock rewards for the entire community. Fans could watch the story unfold across multiple platforms. With every update fueling excitement, speculation and infectious gameplay.
